New sour vaginal taste/smell?

Lately my boyfriend and I have noticed I'm a bit more sour tasting. Yes, I taste my own stuff, I'm bi and it's MY body lol, don't judge. I think it could be a number of things but I'm just not sure. I just got a yeast infection for the first time a few months ago and it almost seems like I've never been the same since then(I treated it with Monistat). My discharge is a little heavier and smells very sour also. When my boyfriend explained it to me he said it's just like when I get turned on and wet and it sits for a while that I'm sour tasting at first but then it goes back to it's normal sweet taste. Is there anyway to fix this? Should I be worried? I don't have any insurance and get my birth control through the planned parenthood, could/should I get some sort of bacteria test there?
